The Centre of Excellence for Child Welfare has a “platform model” of operation, which entails linking together experts, some of whom may be in close proximity to one another physically, and others may work at distance in various centres of research or practice.
Five key organizations are at the hub of CECW’s operations: the University of Toronto, McGill University, l’Université de Montréal, the Child Welfare League of Canada, and the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society. Each of these organizations plays a directive role in the organization of the Centre. CECW has staff and directors in each.
